MAGALANG, Pampanga --- This town's first female chief executive has expressed appreciation over the heartwarming support given to her by her Kabalens since being elected as mayor in 2016.
This was the reaction of re electionist Mayor Malu Paras Lacson as recent surveys favored her as the front-runner and topnotcher in the upcoming midterm elections slated next month.
Magaleños have always been thankful to Lacson whose one of a kind leadership steered unprecedented change and brought prestigious distinctions to the municipality.
In grateful response, Lacson has vowed to sustain and implement more significant programs which were established in her first term that were generally beneficial to the welfare of her townmates and the entire municipality as well.
It can be recalled that it is only under the stint of Lacson, the municipality bagged two national awards for preserving its culture and heritage.
President Rodrigo Duterte himself handed over to Lacson the first Philippine heritage award for protecting cultural heritage in October 2018.
The Pearl Award was also bestowed upon the local government unit of this town for its Best Practices in Community-based Responsible Tourism by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) and the Department of Tourism.
"These awards are dedicated to the people of Magalang who have shown active participation and support in the course of achieving them" Lacson said.
Mayor Lacson together with her running mate, Vice Mayor Norman Lacson and the "One Magalang" slate are running under Governor Lilia Pineda's Kambilan Party.
